Maitreyi was not destined to wake up with the sweet voice of her mother and sleep in her mother's arms while listening to the stories of kings and queens at night. She used to get up and sit on the instructions of her mother and mother was a living image of God for her.

Maitreyi Pushpa's married life

At the age of seventeen, Maitreyi Pushpa expressed her desire to marry her mother. Marriage was the only avoidable thing with Maitreyi to get rid of mental and physical adultery due to absence of father and mother's job. At this age, the mother did not like to marry and take care of the household. She wanted Maitreyi to study further and stand on her own feet. Wherever Kasturi went to fix the marriage of the daughter, she used to carry the marksheet instead of the birth certificate. Not knowing how many times Kasturi had to become the object of ridicule for taking the relationship by the woman, she suffered the taunts of the society.

Kasturi was also a follower of principles, she decided to marry her daughter in such a house where Maitreyi was accepted not on the basis of dowry but on the basis of her ability and being educated. Maitreyi's marriage was fixed after Kasturi liked the relationship and proposal of Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sharma brought by Maitreyi's aunt Vidya. At the time of parting, Kasturi had given books to her daughter in the suitcase instead of household items and said that after Lali went there, Ph.D. think about doing.

She was nineteen years old at the time of marriage. After marriage Maitreyi Pushpa started living in Aligarh. After husband Rameshchandra Sharma got a job in Delhi's AIIMS Hospital, they started living in Delhi. Due to the majority of Maitreyi's life being spent in the village, living in a metropolis like Delhi became a bit difficult.

Maitreyi Pushpa ji said in an interview to Vigyan Bhushan in Dainik Jagran newspaper dated 27 March 2008, “I have not abandoned myself like my characters and characters. In fact, I even put my life at stake to be honest in literature."

After marriage, living in a city like Delhi was a bit difficult. Because most of Maitreyi's life was spoken in the village itself. Interacting with other men is common in a metropolis like Delhi. Maitreyi's husband Dr. Sharma felt insulted by Maitreyi Pushpa talking to Dr. Siddharth and making people talk. Dr. Sharma complains to his wife Maitreyi and says, "Listen, people are saying that Dr. Sharma is not liking Mrs. Sharma. People are saying make Mrs. Sharma dance like Dr. Siddhartha Dugdugi… (are).”

From these words of Dr. Sharma, Maitreyi sees her masculine spirit clearly. On dancing with Dr. Siddhartha in Patal, Dr. Sharma expresses his sentiments on Maitreyi and says, “Keep in mind, I am not even that much Englishman to keep my wife with other men… After all, we too have sanskars.” Maitreyi Pushpa ji has experienced many such facts in her married life journey.

Maitreyi Pushpa's inspiration for writing literature

Maitreyi Pushpa had an inclination towards literature almost from childhood. She liked to read poetry from the third grade onwards. She started writing such letters at a young age. Due to which the borrowers read the letter and gave the rent money to their mother themselves. Maitreyi ji actually started literary writing only after marriage. Maitreyi's first collection of poems is 'Lakire'. Tried to publish that poetry collection.

Rajendra Yadav has helped in getting Maitreyi ji recognized as a writer. All the credit goes to Rajendra Yadav ji for improving her writing talent and making him famous by making it accessible to the readers through Hans magazine.

When Maitreyi Pushpa ji was studying in Intermediate, by writing a poem titled 'Bade ki aurton ke liye', she exposed the repugnant feelings of the lower class women and the malpractices used by the upper classes for their selfish ends. What was published in the Kavita newspaper, the landlord threw the writer out of the house. Everyone in the fence started talking defamatory to Maitreyi. Whenever the writer honestly tried to speed up her pen, only then she had to face infamy.

The hand of daughter Namrata is seen in Maitreyi's journey from poetry to fiction. After reading the poems, daughter Namrata said, "Write a story, mother, you cannot express yourself in detail in poetry. Remember, you wrote a story for our school magazine 'Hubeli'."

The author started her literary journey in this way and today she has made a special identity in the literary world. In 1990, writer Maitreyi made her debut in the literary world with the novel 'Smriti Dansh'. The short novel 'Smriti Stings' was rewritten under the name Aganpakhi.
