Entry into the Music Industry

In 1988, Lee Sang Eun made her debut as a singer at the MBC Riverside Music Festival, where she performed a song composed by another artist. Her exceptional talent led her to win the Rookie Artist Award at the 1988 Golden Disc Awards for her song "Dam-da-di." Initially recognized for her unisex appearance, she soon grew disillusioned with the entertainment industry and decided to take a break from her musical career.

Concern arose when she failed to appear on stage, prompting an event worker to search for her. 



Tragically, her lifeless body was discovered on the third floor of the concert venue in the women's bathroom. An event staff member shared their account of the incident, stating, "It was time for Lee Sang-eun to go on stage, but she wasn't backstage. When I looked in the bathroom, she was lying on the floor."

Authorities investigated the incident, although no foul play was suspected.

Notable Achievements

Lee Sang-eun was renowned for her soprano singing voice. In 2022, she performed a recital at the Kumho Art Hall Yonsei in Seoul, showcasing her exceptional talent. Prior to her passing, she had given a scheduled performance of 'Carmina Burana,' a vocal composition, at the Grand Hall of the Gimcheon Culture and Art Center. This performance was part of a commemoration event for cultural exchange between England and Honam.
