The advantages of the months of Muharram and Ashura

The first month of the Islamic year, known as Muharram al-Haram, is filled with its many ups and downs, love and loyalty, renunciation and sacrifice, and countless virtues and wealth.

In the month of Muharram comes a day whose virtues and virtues are replete with the Holy Quran, Prophetic Hadiths, and books of biography and history. That day is called the "Day of Ashura".

Translation: Verily, the number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve months. In the Book of Allah, since He created the heavens and the earth, there are four holy months among them. This is straight religion so don't torture your soul in these months.

In this verse, Allah mentioned the number of months in the lunar year and declared its sanctity, and stated that undoubtedly Allah has fixed the number of months as twelve. Out of these twelve months, there are four months that Allah has blessed with special excellence and purity.

These four months are called holy months. Before the conquest of Mecca by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when learned Muslims began to arrive in Medina, they said that the infidels of Mecca should not start a war with us in the holy month. ,

Farewell sermon

Narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) addressed the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah on the day of sacrifice and said: The era has turned around and reached the same heath, that day Which was the heath (kingdom) of the creation of the heavens and the earth. There are twelve months in a year, four of which are sacred. Three in a row namely Dhul-Qaida, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram al-Haram, and one Rajab al-Murjab (Tafsir al-Muzhari Vol. 5 p. 272.

Tafsir Ruh al-Bayan Vol. 3 p. 421) Ashura day literally means the tenth day or the tenth date. But now, the day of Ashura is generally applied to the tenth day of Muharram, the day when Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), along with his 72 holy souls, drank the cup of martyrdom in the path of God for the sake of religion. Islam.

Qualities of Ashura

Regarding the virtue of the day of Ashura, Hazrat Abu Qatada, may Allah be pleased with him, says in Sahih Muslim Sharif, "I firmly believe, in the presence of Allah, that fasting on Ashura washes away the sins of a year."

Regarding this virtue, Hazrat Ali Radiyallahu Anhu says that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: If you want to fast other than the month of Ramadan, then fast Ashura, because it is the month of Allah. The excellence of this month is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an and there is a day in this month in which Allah (SWT) accepted the repentance of one nation and will accept the repentance of another nation.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged people to renew repentance (repentance) on the day of Ashura and repent before Allah for acceptance of forgiveness. Go to hell. Because on that day whoever asks Allah for forgiveness of his sins, Allah will accept his repentance.

Just as the repentance of those before him was accepted. There are many books by religious scholars on the day of Ashura. The day of Ashura is blessed with innumerable blessings and innumerable virtues. Allah Ta ' ala has called this day blessed and extremely blessed.

It is estimated by Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Haq Muhaddis Dehlavi in the book "Mastab al-Sunnat" of Quds Surah, in which he wrote that "Ibn Juzi mentioned from Hazrat Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the tenth of Muharram The date is such a unique and unique date.

This is the date on which Allah Almighty created Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) and on that day made him enter heaven and accepted his repentance on that day. On the same day, he placed the throne and the chair, created heaven and hell, earth and sky, moon and sun, tablet and pen.

And some scholars say that this name was given to the day of Ashura because Allah bestowed ten greatnesses on the ten prophets (peace be upon them) on that day (Ghanita Talibeen p. 55).

Another name for the day of Ashura

The day of Ashura is also known as the "Day of Adornment" and the name of this day is mentioned in the blessed hadith. On the authority of Ibn Umar (may God be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of God, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, fasted on the day of adornment, what did he miss by fasting on the day of praise? No. , (i.e. the day of Ashura) Translation: It is narrated from Ibn Umar that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever fasts on the Day of Adornment, i.e. the day of Ashura, has gained the remainder of his dead year. Al-Talbeen Volume 2 page 54, Ma Tabab min al-Sunnat page 10)

Important Events of Ashura Day

Allah accepted the repentance of Aadam (Sall.)

* On this day Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was born and on the same day, Allah made him his friend and saved him from the fire of Nimrod (fire). On the same day, Allah accepted the repentance of Hazrat Dawood (Sall.).

* On the same day Hazrat Suleman (Sall.) got back the rule * On this day Allah Ta'ala saved Hazrat Yunus (Sall.) from the stomach of the fish.

* On the same day Allah raised Hazrat Isa Alaihissalam to heaven. On the same day, Hazrat Yakub Alaihissalam's sight was recovered and on the same day, a way was made for Bani Israel in the river.

* The first rain fell from the sky on the earth on the day of Ashura, even as according to the holy hadith, the Day of Judgment would also come on the same day.

Fasting on the day of Ashura gives a lot of rewards. Nafl fasts of Ashura. According to the teachings of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are also used to observe these fasts. And he martyred Hazrat Fatima (RA) in Karbala.

Hazrat Ibrahim ibn Muhammad Kufi, a genius of his time, said that whoever keeps his loved ones, relatives, family, and friends happy on the day of Ashura and spends on them cheerfully and generously, Allah Almighty will bless him for the whole year. He appoints blessings and bountiful sustenance for him. Commentators, jurists, and scholars say that on the day of Ashura, if a person places a hand of mercy on the head of an orphan or a poor person, Allah will reward him according to the amount of his hair.

Ashura Day Activities

There is a great virtue in fasting on the day of Ashura. Before Islam, the people of Mecca and the Jews also fasted on the day of Ashura. Narrated from Hazrat Urwa that Umm al-Momineen Hazrat Aisha said, "The Quraysh used to fast on the day of Ashura during Jahiliya. Then when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madinah, fasting Ramadaan became obligatory, then Ashura The fast on the day of

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fasted on that day and ordered others to fast as well. The Prophet used to fast on the day of Ashura. Hazrat Muhsin al-Qaynat (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ordered his Ummah to fast on this day as well. And he said, Hold it for nine, hold it for ten, hold it for eleven.

Su mu U'um aa shura'i U'um ka nat el nabi ta su mu'ah (Translation): Fast on the day of Ashura, because it is the day the Prophet used to fast. (Al-Jami Al-Sagheer Vol. 4 p. 215) Fasting on the day of Ashura was part of the Holy Prophet's normal routine, and he used to fast on that day with special arrangements.

A holy hadith mentions four habits of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which he never gave up. There is also fasting for one day of Ashura in these four routines. Tradition has it that Hazrat Hafsa (RA) said that there were four things that the Prophet (PBUH) never gave up.

Fasting on the day of Ashura and the tenth day of Dhu'l-Hijjah means fasting the first nine days and three days of each month (i.e. the days of menstruation) and fasting two rak'ahs (i.e. Sunnah) before the obligatory Fajr prayer ( Narrated by) Al-Nasai and Mishkwat Sharif page 180) Fasting on Ashura gives the reward of 1000 martyrs.

And according to one tradition, the angels living in the seven heavens are rewarded. Whoever fasts on Ashura, Allah writes in his deeds the reward of 60 (sixty) years of fasting and worship in the form of Salavat.

Widening the table in Ashura

To be generous on the day of Ashura means to take care of the poor, to increase the table of one's house, and to spend on family members, this leads to expansion of sustenance and generosity. There is a hadith in Mubaraka on the authority of Sayyiduna ibn Masood, may Allah be pleased with him, who said that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Whoever spends the day of Ashura on his family May Allah grant him sustenance throughout the year. The vastness of (additional) says.

Hazrat Sufiyan Thauri Rahimullah said that we tested it and found it to be exactly the same. (Mishkwat Sharif p. 170 Ghanita al-Talbeen Vol. 2 p. 54) Hadiths containing open provisions are found in various traditions. Many traditions prove this hadith to be correct. Today a prayer for the new Hijri year is being shared on social media. This prayer can be read.

It is narrated in the hadiths that when a new year or month began, the companions learned and recited this prayer. That's why this dua should be recited at the beginning of every month, although there is no harm in reciting it on New Year's Eve as well.

May Allah give us security, faith, security, satisfaction from Islam and the Most Merciful, and refuge from Satan.

(Al-Ma'jam al-Awsat by al-Tabarani. Hadith No. 6410)

Greeting each other on the occasion of the new Hijri year is not forbidden in Islamic Shari'a, but the way people do it sincerely, seems to be an act of great reward.

Day of Ashura and incident of Karbala

The day of Ashura, the tenth day of the month of Muharram, has a completely different aspect, in contrast to the above qualities. What a strange coincidence that on the same day Imam Hussain, the youngest grandson of the master of the universe was martyred in the field of Karbala. The Prophet (PBUH) once said in a very kind tone "Hasan and Hussain are like two fragrant flowers to me".

What is the matter of this Chamistan Inayat, Riza?

Poison is the bud in which beauty and beauty blossom

Hazrat Hussain was martyred on the 10th of Muharram in 60 Hijri, more or less 50 years after the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The soil given by the Prophet turned into blood inside the vial (bottle). Tirmizi Sharif in Volume II states that on the 10th day of Ashura (Ashura day), a woman came to Madinah Sharif to serve Hazrat Umm Salama. He saw that Hazrat Umm Salama was in love.

Radiyallahu Anha reported that they had just seen in a dream that the head and beard of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) were covered with blessed dust. I asked, O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter? So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I am just coming from Karbala. Mir Hussain was martyred today."

Hazrat Umm al-Munain (RA) said that he remembered the soil that Hazrat Jibreel Amin brought from the field of Karbala and gave it to the Prophet (PBUH) at the time of the birth of Hazrat Hussain (RA). He gave me that soil and said, "O Umm Salma, keep it with you, because the day my Hussain is martyred, this soil will also turn into blood." ,

Today, I saw that the soil which was kept closed in the vial has turned into blood. After all, how was that man of God who, being helpless and helper, did not bow his head before the false rulers, he accepted martyrdom with great courage, just remained attached to his Lord and after that, he set an example for the coming Ummah. False powers and tyrannical powers are not there because any member of the Muslim Ummah fears them and is ready to bow down to them or accept them.

It should be the duty of every member of the Muslim Ummah that he should fight against every lie and try only for the upliftment of truth and prostrate before the creator of the universe. We should enrich ourselves with this clear message from the incident of Karbala and not spend this historically auspicious day as a farce. Because this day is associated with a person whose sacrifice invites the people of the religion of Islam to mourn and mourn, rather this day encourages them to be firm and firm on the principles of their lifestyle and to have faith and belief in the existence of Allah. Gives a lesson

Keep presenting the great capital of life, the spirit of sacrifice and hope, because in this lies the secret of success and prosperity. We pray to Almighty Allah to give us and all Muslims the right thoughts and right thoughts about the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) on the day of Ashura and Iqa Karbala, Ameen! And may we sinners be established on the right path and the path of self-control. so be it!
