Manufacturing Location:

New Delhi, Tech Desk:

Samsung has recently launched two new devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, along with the unveiling of their respective prices. These premium flagship smartphones are specifically tailored to meet the requirements and demands of Indian users.

Reason for Local Production:

Considering the immense popularity of Samsung smartphones among Indian users, the company has made the strategic decision to manufacture these devices locally in India.

Confirmation from a Senior Official:

A senior official from Samsung confirmed the localization of production on Thursday. Pre-booking for both devices commenced at midnight on the 27th of July.

Contribution to Smartphone Revenue:

Industry experts estimate that both the newly launched Samsung devices will contribute over 1.8 percent to the total smartphone revenue in 2023. The projected sales of more than 6.35 lakh foldable smartphones this year in India will make up less than 0.5 percent of the overall estimated volume.

Continuation of Local Production:

It's worth mentioning that Samsung's previous models, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, were also manufactured in India. These devices started their local production just four months after their global launch in December last year.

Commitment to Indian Customers:

Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President (Mobile Business) of Samsung India, affirmed that Indian customers will have the advantage of owning Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones manufactured in India right from the beginning.
