Notably, since the sunrise falls on July 3, the festival will be observed on this day. Furthermore, two auspicious yogas, namely Brahma and Indra, will form on Guru Purnima. The conjunction of the Sun and Mercury will also create the Raja Yoga called Budhaditya. The following are the auspicious timings for worship:



  • Morning: 08:56 to 10:41
  • Afternoon: 12:04 to 12:57
  • Evening: 03:54 to 05:39
  • Evening: 05:39 to 07:23


Worship Method (Guru Purnima Puja Vidhi):

To perform the Guru Purnima puja, begin by waking up early in the morning and taking a bath. Afterward, observe a fast and worship by holding water, rice, and flowers in hand. Proceed to worship Lord Vishnu, Devguru Brihaspati, and Maharishi Vedvyas following the prescribed rituals. Offer flowers to all the deities and light a lamp using pure ghee. Present Lord Vishnu with yellow clothes and partake in fruits and sweets as desired. Conclude the puja by performing aarti (ritual of waving a lit lamp) and chanting Jupiter's mantras. Additionally, if you have a religious or spiritual teacher, seek their blessings by touching their feet. Offer them clothes, sweets, fruits, and Dakshina (a monetary offering). Spend some time sitting at the feet of the Guru, serving them. Lastly, make sure to perform Gurudev's aarti.
